Access to the castle for motorized tourists: (from Čabradský Vrbovek)
Čabraď Castle can be accessed by car from the village of Čabradský Vrbovok.
You can get to this village by turning off the main road Krupina – Šahy towards the village of Bzovík.
There is a crossroads behind Bzovík where you need to turn right towards Drieňovo. It is about 18 kilometers from Krupina.
In Čabradský Vrbovek, turn off the main road towards the church and below it is the road to the Konské pass (keep the church on your left). There, the asphalt road ends after 4 km. You have to leave your car here and continue on foot. The road to the valley is quite broken and there is a traffic ban there. Don’t be fooled by the fact that it goes all the way down into the valley. You really do go down to the castle! Don’t pay attention to the two left turns up the hill – otherwise you will get lost! At a comfortable pace, you will walk down to the valley of the Litava River in about 40 minutes. After a while, you will reach the bridge and 100m beyond it is a church, along which there is a path to the castle. The entire route is marked with a blue tourist sign.

Those who decide to take public transport should take the bus from Zvolen to Krupina.
From Krupina, continue by bus from stop no. 2 towards Drieňovo. Get off in Čabradský Vrbovek at the municipal office. Then walk towards the church. Here you need to decide which way to take.
1) comfortable, but longer route: (marked with a blue tourist sign)
From the church, continue straight on the asphalt road to the Konské pass. There, a forest road continues into the valley, you need to keep going down. The length of the route is about 8 km. There is less chance of getting lost.
2) more demanding, but shorter route: (red dotted route on our map) Below the church, turn right towards the cooperative. You need to pass by it and continue in that direction. There is a dirt road there – sometimes wet and overgrown. On the left you will have fields, on the right a forest. The road rises slightly until it reaches the top of the hill. There, from behind the field on the left, a forest approaches, to which a strip of grass leads. You can enter this forest along it. There are paths in the forest that converge into a gutter. You should always choose the one that leads the lowest. At the end of the gutter, the path branches, you need to go left. When you come to the cottage, go down through the meadow to the Litavica river. There is a path next to it. You should go against the current of the river, i.e. to the left. After a while, you will come to the road coming from Konské. This will lead you to the bridge over the river. From there, it is another 100 meters to the church. Next to it is a path to the castle. The length of this path is about 3-4 km. However, it is much more demanding in terms of orientation and fitness.
